Major: Lounge and Kitchen Textured

After the feedback mentioned how my character had a 70s feel to it I decided to take that and apply it to the rooms also. Though the rooms looks bare this is only what is seen in the shots.
I have also textured the garden but I dont like it other than the tree :)

Major: Pre_vis with Audio

This is the pre-vis so far, I've done some hand drawn bits as I'm thinking I dont want to use dynamics so I might use 2D in certain areas, others are just because I wasn't sure how to do it in maya.

I need to include shadow play in the first scene and I have an idea handy but I'm not sure how to produce it in maya so a word with alan may be needed.

Dummy sounds for now and textures are on the way - I'm also thinking of getting rid of Sallys cones altogether...

Major: Updated Textures

I have updated the textures to fit more with the new approach.

NOTE - these are the textures in a maya render only, more passes to come in AE for the full effect.

Major: Dummy Meshes

Now that I will be rendering in Maya Software I have smoothed my models and made an 'on/off' switch to help stop lagging, but it wasn't enough so dummy meshes it is.

Major: Finding a Style...

For the minor I rendered everything in mental ray and left it as a maya default, the only style was the modelling and the texturing. Since then I've struggled to find a style that works, that I like and being achievable but I might just have it now!
Though it isn't quite there I think its on its way. With this new approach I am thinking about going back into my painted textures and draining them of detail instead making it more hand drawn with scribbly lines and much vibrant colours as the renders currently are washed out.

Though I did like the maya mental ray default I think the new approach is closer catered to my audience and the 'story book' vibe. I am hoping to make the final renders more painterly, like the style of watercolour paintings.

NOTE: as this is rendered in maya software I need to smooth the model with polysmooth - a button for smoothing or dummy model is yet to come

Things to do-
- re paint textures for more hand drawn style
- increase colour vibrancy 
- continue to play with blending modes in AE
